Race – copy from Korean Music

March 25th, 2008 Blog 0 Comments

Watched Race Sometime back. First day First show with sisters. And as usual of Abbas Mastan flicks, i liked it. Its was fun ride and thrills didn’t stop. style and music both had their own best quotas. As much as i found saif way cool in his new avatar, also liked the music for the movie in the melodious song called “pehli nazar main”- Sung By Atif Aslam and directed by Pritam.

But dissappointments are also waiting to happen, specially in case of me liking a movie or music. Just like most of the other movies that i’ve liked, this one also has the song music directly copied from a korean song. Great. might as well just listen to this one.

Corpse Bride

corpse bride

Awesome story told and animated in most beautiful way.Tim Burton will never let me down, atleast not all the way. Corpse Bride is a family friendly animation movie, still quite dark and meaningful when it comes to concept.

Lets get down to the plot of the film now, shall we?

It a tale of a young man named Victor who is betrothed to a young woman named Victoria but accidentally marries a corpse and ends up below the earth with all the dead people. This is beautifully made and visually interesting but rather light on laughs and unfortunately includes songs.

Victor Van Dort is a nervous young man, the son of a nouveau riche family. His parents are determined that he should marry class and so they arrange for him to marry Victoria, the daughter of the aristocratic Lord Everglot. Victoria´s parents are keen for the marriage to go ahead as, despite their titled status, they are cash poor. During the rehearsal for their wedding Victor nervously bungles proceedings and ends up running off into the woods.

In the woods, He practices his vows for Victoria by placing the ring on what appears to be a protruding branch, but is actually the Corpse Bride’s bony hand, thereby inadvertently ends up marrying her. She takes the hapless Victor to the land of the dead and he battles to escape. Meanwhile above ground the wedding plans are threatened by Victor´s disappearance and the arrival of the dodgy Barkis Bittern who wishes to take Victor´s place.

Victor must choose between his living and dead brides, essentially. To be perfectly honest, throughout most of the film, I was undecided on who I thought he’d choose and be able to work it out with.

Tim Burton employs his trademark style here creating a cutesy gothic world of caricatures. As with The Nightmare Before Christmas he employs stop-motion animation and the effect is beautiful although it lacks in a few places. His direction is very good but the plot is weak and the project doesn´t feel as though it was fully fleshed out before going into production, consequently it feels slow and lengthy.

Corpse Bride features an all-star cast including Burton´s wife Helena Bonham Carter in the title role and his favourite male lead, Johnny Depp, as Victor. Naturally all of them are very good it´s just a shame that the script is not as strong though.

Overall, throughout my viewing of the film, I enjoyed it. May be you also should give it a try.

Watch the movie: Corpse Bride

Zml.com

Site reviews. Normally I do not do them, until unless i’m exceptionally impressed by the website. Either the content/design or the idea.
In this case, I am a fan for all now. zml.com is a movie library site, where one can get Full length movie downloads for reasonably cheap rates.

As for the starters, this site has a good collection of movies. The database is well kept, yet the search option should get better refined, in my opinion. Anyhow, the movies are available in three qualities including PDA format. That is one thing i like the most about this library. I love to take movies along where i go, and PDA format movies makes it easier. Although the frame size is small, the quality is as good as it can get.

let me tell you, its not just that you can watch Cheap movies, you can ALSO download/watch the movies for free if you’re a blogger. how you can do that, well, you should go to their website and check for your self.

My experience with the site: I have so far downloaded 5 movies, in last 3 days times. Garfield, Sincity, Requiem for a Dream, The Corpse Bride, Shark Tale. the sign up for this site was fast and later on approval for the ‘blogger-reviewer’ account was done on time. Then it was an easy thing to just select the movie and start downloading. I started with Garfield. And the download was as smooth as direct p2p transfer. There was not a single moment of downtime, and/or the download stopped in between. For a 250 mb PDA version of Garfield the movie, took only 30 minutes to download on my broadband connection. How awesome is that!

Overall, the site rates 9/10 for me. Database should get bigger and search should get better, in my perception. Other than that, its one site i am bound to go back to over and over again, for you know how big a movie freak i am. :)

Movie time!!

April 25th, 2006 Blog 6 comments

Watched: Basic Instinct 2.
Rate: 4/5.

Quite similar to first movie, almost like a remake. Though I’ve always loved Sharon Stone movies, so i’ll be biased towards it
anyways! Just my perception, none else has to agree on that.

On the side note: I met up with a good friend to watch that movie. It was fun, cause its not easy to find an intellectual guy to watch movie with, where you’re sure, sleezy flirting is not gonna be followed meanwhile or after the movie. Instead it was a looong Photography theory class, that I loved attending. Discussed a lot of things, a lot of issues, and found a lot of similarities. well, thats not a common thing, is it?

Anyways, there will be more times with him later on this weekend. For now, It was just a thoery class.
BTW, he has really beautiful and expressive hands, he was very animated while talking, which largely shows his passion towards the subject he was talking about, Photography.

Keep enjoying,

Awesome Movie. Awesome characters. First time the other actors are actually shadowing Amir Khan in his own movie! This is the first movie, that after the movie, I am not thinking about the actors after i finish watching the movie, but the characters and themes. After the intermission, for the whole remaining one and half hour I coundn’t stop my tears. The message comes out and touches your heart, Hell yes, it does!

Of course, Prem watched it for 3 times after it released, in two day’s time! I watched it once, but think i wouldnt dare watch it again, as it would again make me feel enraged, and hurt later on. But the theme of the movie has affected me a lot, and It would also definately affect my future too. But let me just keep that part a secret for now.

I loved that movie. It gets 20 outta 10 in my ratings!
Go watch if you’ve not watched it yet!
