God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,

Perfect First date. Makes me think of this one incident and nothing ever would come closer to becoming the best date of my life other than that one.

It happened years back, and it was with someone who I am today happily married to. guess i have all the right reasons to be happy and married.

although there were long months of talk over the phone before we had this date so technically it would not be the first one. but it was the very first time i was going to meet him. let me tell you what was so perfect about the date – it was simple and honest. there were no over hyped gestures – flowers – gifts etc but he was thoughtful in little details as to how do i like my food and drinks, how i like to spend my time, what kind of music i like to listen to. we did not do extravagant stuff like dining out / partying / etc but we connected – we sat together in private but special dinner date and we talked. and we talked some more. I was direct and he was honest in responding and there was this strange spark in the air. We did not need fireworks to announce it, it was evident with ever so slight touch of fingers here and there. we bonded. we made love with words and thats how our journey began. That day onwards , I knew he was the one. I still know he is the one for me. Its already 3 years down that date and I am more in love today than I was yesterday.

frankly, I couldn’t have asked for anything more from a first date and it was oh-so-perfect. well at least – perfect for me.

Day 1

Day began at 6:30 with the loud noise of water forcing through the tap as hubby forgot to shut off the tap night before and I didn’t realize it was on until it started pouring cats and dogs in bathroom early morning. anyway, i had to get up to shut it and i am already up 20 hours straight since then.

started my day with the daily walk. yeah, i’m becoming regular in doing that too. cardiotrainer app on my xperia motivates me a lot to do more. already 25 kms done in a week. yaay to that!

breakfast came next. although i did it alone as hubby was late in coming home after his night shift. After he came home, next few hours went in a jiffy and before i could realize it was 2 in afternoon.

i got up to get to work, hubby was off to his usual sleep hours. i had a work – lunch – work schedule for another few more hours. After that watched the new animated flick “Rango” to freshen up. it was a nice. lovely little script that makes your heart go out to this little lizard protagonist. although i kept imagining him as johnny depp because his voice over was so effective.

a few sweet somethings shared with my love as i woke him up to get ready for his night shift. Had a lovely little evening snack[breakfast for him] and then he left for work and i got back to my work. and till now am doing just that.

Guess weekend is a concept thats wasted in my lifestyle.

1. The elbow is the strongest point on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide.
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you….
Chances are that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse than you,
and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy..
The driver won’t see you, but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars
after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit
(doing their chequebook, or making a list, etc.
DON’T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this
is the perfect opportunity for him to get in
on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

5. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body
in a remote location.

6. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor , and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle,
and the passenger side…
If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
(And better paranoid than dead.)

7. ALWAYS take the elevator
instead of the stairs.
Stairwells are horrible places to be alone
and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!

8. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target)
4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.
RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

9. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic:
STOP
It may get you raped, or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,
well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked ‘for help’ into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted
his next victim.

10. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird.. The police told her
‘Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door..’
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried
that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, ‘We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.’
He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby’s cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that
they hear baby’s cries outside their doors when they’re home alone at night.

11. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle
of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and
then attack.

Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbors!

Mumbai had a terrible auto strike on Tuesday which disrupted transportation for many people including yours truly. Specially in the month of rain, all this can create such havoc in many lives.

And its all for proposed hike in fare due to hike in CNG rates. In all fairness – CNG rates per KG is average RS 20. Usually an auto will give around 20 KMs average on mumbai roads. So to them its 1 Rs/KM is an average translation. Even more so ever, there are waiting gears added to the auto meters too. Mumbai autodrivers and cabbies earn a lot in just waiting in stuck up traffic which is a usual case on many roads in suburbs.

If we calculate auto’s maintance and Driver’s charges in addition to the cost of per KM , it should go about 4 Rs/KM. And we were already paying minimum of 5 Rs/KM till yesterday. I seriously don’t understand why they really needed that hike in fares. Anyway, the strike they did has made the government agree to them, and made changes in the base tariff. Now we pay 6.50 Rs/KM from now on.

So above image is the revised tariff for mumbai autos. Please use below links to download it in different printable format.

Why choose womens designer shoes, I sometimes wonder. Those women wobble around, they take longer to get from here to there, they often trip on small sidewalk imperfections, and they regularly fall and get hurt.

I will confess: my gut reaction is that a woman’s IQ relates inversely to whether that woman tends to wear accident-inducing high heeled shoes. I think of women who flock to such shoes as women who aspire to become Barbies or Princesses. Before you write a comment to protest, I realize that my gut feeling is a gross over-simplification. I also have an analogous gut feeling with regard to men who aspire to higher forms of masculinity by rushing to engage in dangerous activities such as motocross or hang-gliding . . .

Contrary to conventional wisdom, I don’t think that women who wear high heels are “hotter” than those who don’t. To the contrary, I’m annoyed by high heels. Most woman who wear them look uncomfortable, so uncomfortable that they become objects of pity than sexiness. But many other men (and women) disagree with me. For proof, take a look at almost any advertising !!

Anyway, let me start with the facts – It has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that wearing high heel shoes contribute to numerous serious injuries.

Corns and calluses. Thick, hardened layers of skin develop in areas of friction between your shoe and your foot.

Toenail problems. Constant pressure on your toes and nail beds from being forced against the front of your shoe by a high heel can lead to nail fungus and ingrown toenails.

Hammertoe. When your toes are forced against the front of your shoe, an unnatural bending of your toes results. This can lead to hammertoe .

Bunions. Tight fitting shoes may worsen bunions — bony bumps that form on the joint at the base of your big toe.

Tight heel cords. If you wear high heels all the time, you risk tightening and shortening your Achilles tendon.

Pump bump. Also known as Haglund’s deformity, this bony enlargement on the back of your heel can become aggravated by the rigid backs or straps of high heels.

Neuromas. A growth of nerve tissue. A neuroma causes sharp, burning pain in the ball of your foot accompanied by stinging or numbness in your toes.

Joint pain in the ball of the foot – This causes increased pressure, strain and pain in your forefoot. Shoes with tightfitting toe boxes can lead to similar discomfort.

Stress fractures. Tiny cracks in one of the bones of your foot.

High heels have also been linked to overworked or injured leg muscles, osteoarthritis of the knee and low back pain. You also risk ankle injuries if you lose your balance and fall off your high heels

Rupert Evans, an accident and emergency doctor at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff said injuries could lead to long-term problems. Women should stick to shoes with heels less than 4cm (1.5in) if they wanted to avoid a trip to hospital, he advised. Dr Evans said he has seen an increase in the number of women being admitted to hospital with injuries caused by the fashionable footwear. Injuries ranged from sprained ankles to broken bones and dislocations – and in some cases caused permanent damage.

What kind of permanent damage? chronic knee pain, sprained ankles and back problems.

So why do women wear high heels?

This blog is in the fond memory of late Isaac Newton, who would be celebrating his 367th birthday if he was alive. Nonetheless, he would stay living in our lives with the laws he presented to science.

But lets consider for a moment if Newton was even more interested in love, he would have come up with different versions of the laws… something like below may be…

Universal law:

“Love can neither be created nor be destroyed; only it can transfered from One girlfriend to another girlfriend with some loss of money ”

First law:

“a boy in love with a girl, continue to be in love with her and a girl in love with a boy, continue to be in love with him, until or unless any external agent(brother or father of the gal) comes into play and break the legs of the boy. ”

Second law:

“the rate of change of intensity of love of a girl towards a boy is directly proportional to the instantaneous bank balance of the boy and the direction of this love is same to as increment or decrement of the
bank balance. ”

Third law:

” the force applied while proposing a girl by a boy is equal and opposite to the force applied by the girl while slapping.

Hope Everyone enjoyed this one.. i know i did. LMAO
